Chef de Partie

We have an exciting opportunity in our busy kitchen for a Chef de Partie. Do you enjoy working in a vibrant kitchen? We are looking for someone who is keen to develop their kitchen skills and work on different sections of a kitchen. The Chef de Partie role is a key role in the busy kitchen at Hilltop Farm supporting the Team.  The role can vary from day to day, so the applicant must enjoy working in different parts of a kitchen and be someone who enjoys adapting.

The role is full time, 5 days a week includes weekends with the usual hours being day time only with some Friday nights during the summer. This busy café offers very sociable hours, so you still get your evenings! You will be joining a great Team, working in one of Warwickshire’s best known rural cafes and there is plenty of room to grow in the role for the right candidate who is looking for a new challenge.

Responsibilities:

Create Great Food

  • To produce great tasting food for our customers, ensuring a high quality of food is continuously produced for the dishes that you prepare.
  • To support the Team as required during each shift with food preparation and any other tasks that are required.
  • To bake cakes, pastries and pies for the café/farm shop as required.
  • To build afternoon teas as required and assist making all parts to ensure we always have the ‘wow’ factor.
  • To work with Sous Chef to cover the Head Chef on their days off and to maintain the standards they cook to during this time.

Menu Management

  • Input into the menu with ideas and inspiration for dishes that you think will work well on our menu, supporting the Head Chef to manage a seasonal, great tasting, interesting menu throughout the year.
  • To support the Team to make sure that we have the optimum amount of stock on site, so that we can always meet customers orders.
  • Manage the stock in my work station area so that waste is kept to a minimum and food safety and quality is not compromised.

Hygiene

  • To support the Team to ensure that the kitchen is maintained to a high standard of hygiene at all times and that it always complies with food safety legislation.
  • To ensure work stations are kept to a good level of hygiene throughout the shift.
  • To support the Team with deep cleaning as required.
  • To support the Team with record-keeping and food labeling as required.
  • To sweep and mop down floors at the end of every shift in the work area.
  • To assist Kitchen Porter with washing up created in the kitchen if time allows and they need some support.
