Full-time Café Manager

(Maternity cover)

Are you a great Team player, do you love working with people and have a passion for delivering excellent customer service? Then this role could be perfect for you! We are looking for someone full-time to cover maternity leave.

Responsibilities

Managing a happy and effective team:

  • To manage, lead, motivate and develop the Team to ensure that everyone in the Team understands their role and is also being developed as they want to.
  • To manage the Team rota, ensuring that there is always appropriate cover available.
  • To carry out Team 1:1’s as the Team require.

Customer service:

  • Overall accountability for customer service, being the point of escalation if the Team need support
  • To be an ambassador for the Hilltop Farm brand, always leading the way with great customer communications, ensuring a customer never leaves feeling they have not been given great service, when they have fairly raised something with us.

Stock management:

  • Overall accountability for café stock, ensuring that we always have the appropriate amount of stock on site to meet our customers needs.
  • To ensure that we are getting the most competitive prices from our suppliers.
  • To manage waste, minimising the value of stock thrown away whilst ensuring that food safety and quality is not compromised.
  • To ensure our stock is always compliant with food safety legislation with regards to date codes, labelling, pricing & storage.

Hygiene & food safety:

  • To ensure that the Café is maintained to a high standard of hygiene at all times and that it always complies with food safety legislation.
  • To ensure compliance with EHO visits and we achieve a 5/5 rating at our next spot visit.
  • To lead by example with regards to hygiene standards set, ensuring the Team are always clear on what needs to be done and best practice is followed.

Events:

  • Managing or supporting events as required.

Finance:

  • Cashing up after shifts and till float management.
  • Ensure we meet our company budgets and they are adjusted as required.

The ideal candidate will have the below qualities:

  • Is passionate about delivery of great customer service.
  • Has a love of local, seasonal produce and food provenance.
  • Has the ability to organise a team to run service effectively, leading from the front to establish credibility and trust.
  • Has excellent people skills with the ability to build an instant rapport.
  • Has great leadership and motivational skills.
  • Is driven by a passion for delivering a high standard of service.
