Meat….

We take great pride in selling our own lamb and beef.  Whilst we source our pork and poultry from other farms (which we will tell you about later) all of the  meat we sell, is reared using traditional farming methods, so that the animals have natural, healthy lives and they spend as much time outside as possible.  This traditional approach means that all of the animals are healthy and happy and we believe that this leads to fantastic quality.

Beef

Our beef herd live outside for a majority of the year, which means that they get to eat lots of tasty, nutritious grass.  In the winter (when it gets very cold), we bring them inside and we feed them with a mix of barley and beans that are all also grown on our farm.  We cross all of our Cows with a Hereford bull, which is a traditional English breed.  This means that our meat is full of flavour and succulent.

Lamb

Our sheep flock live outside all year round (their woolly coats help keep them warm).  They graze on the river meadows of Hunningham and during the winter we supplement their grass diet with barley and beans and also turnips!

Pork

Our pork and bacon is sourced from a family farm near Hinkley.  We stock a range of handmade sausages, which are made only from the shoulder of the pig so that meat used is of the best quality.  The bacon is dry cured using traditional methods with no water added, to give you that old fashioned flavour.  Some of the bacon is smoked over hickory and oak chips to give it a perfect smokey flavour.

Poultry

At Hilltop Farm we stock both barn reared and free-range chicken, that we source from local farms.  The birds are reared naturally on corn based food to the highest welfare standards.

Cold & Smoked Meats

We sell a wide selection of cold meats including dry cured ham, smoked chicken breast and smoked sausages.
